Our instructional video gives a great overview on the entire process of performing a wedding. We've also laid out the basic preparation steps below:
- Get ordained.
- Contact the marriage office where the couple plans to get their marriage license. Inform them that you are a licensed minister and ask what documents you will be required to present with the marriage license application. More information can be found on our State Marriage Laws page.
You'll likely be required to present one (or both) of the below items. Be advised, too, that several states have their own special registration paperwork. Before placing your order, please check if the state where you will be performing the wedding requires special paperwork. Any state-specific documents you might need are available in our State Packages.
- Log in using the email address and password you entered when becoming ordained. Navigate to the Ministry Supplies page, where you will find any documents or materials you might need. The two most requested items include the Ordination Certificate and the Letter of Good Standing.
